Words Of Inspiration

louis-hay-quote-1-words

Sometimes all it takes is a few words, an inspiring statement that has the power to change our perspective and improve our mood.

One of my favourite authors, Louise Hay, celebrated her 90th birthday this month.  She is ‘the queen’ of affirmations—positive statements—and for decades her words have inspired people to improve their thoughts in more loving ways.

This month, I’ve decided to share some of Louise’s words, affirmations and one-liners that promote positive change.  I believe in word-power and the magic they perform in helping us to lift our moods and mind!

Here are some of my favourite words from Louise, ones that have guided me over the years…

Thoughts

The thoughts we choose to think are the tools we use to paint the canvas of our lives.

Just because you believe something doesn’t mean it’s true.

You are not a helpless victim of your own thoughts, but rather a master of your own mind.

Stop scaring yourself with your thoughts.

Set yourself free from other people’s opinions.

When you’re having a tough day, reach for a good thought.

You are the only person who thinks in your mind! You are the power and authority in your world.

I do not fix problems. I fix my thinking. Then problems fix themselves.

The past

Learn from the past and let it go. Live in today.

The past is over and done and cannot be changed. This is the only moment we can experience.

Love

Love is the great miracle cure. Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives.

Allow the world to love and accept you.

Gratitude

The more grateful you are, the more you get to be grateful about. It’s that simple.

Self-worth / self–love

You will be with you longer than anyone else on the planet so make it a good relationship. (I really enjoy this one!).

Healing

To support the body in healing, we must believe we are worthy of being healed.

Your mind is a tool you can choose to use any way you wish.

Inner-spirit

We are far more than our bodies and personalities. The inner spirit is always beautiful and lovable, no matter how our outer appearances may change.

Aging

Know that you are the perfect age. Each year is special and precious, for you shall only live it once. Be comfortable with growing older.

Power-words / Affirmations

I am in the right place at the right time doing the right thing.

Each day is a new opportunity. I chose to make this day a great one.

All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this situation only good will come. I am safe.

I am willing to release the need to be unworthy.  I am worthy of the very best in life and I now lovingly allow myself to accept it.

Call to Action

Print this list and keep it handy.  Then, the next time you are feeling out of sorts, you will have a list of positive statements that have the potential to help you.

And, if you have a favourite saying of Louise Hay, contact me and I’ll post it on my website so others can benefit from her words too!

This Month’s Video

In this 10 minute video Louise Hay talks about how words and thoughts create our future.  It’s a great to listen to so grab a cuppa, sit back (with your headphones on if you wish) and enjoy!

The Purpose Of Service

Service

Recently I have had the joy of reconnecting with a group of spiritually-minded friends who I have not seen for some time.  Our relationship goes back a long way, 1993 in fact, and spending time together was as joyous as slipping into a favourite pair of comfortable slippers—warm, familiar and deliciously comforting.

As we gathered together in devotional prayer, the spiritual gathering concluded with a reading on the topic of service.  It was a great reminder to me that every day, each one of us serves. No matter who we are, our lives involve serving others.

In fact, when we take stock of our day, the majority of our time involves service in some shape or form. For instance, preparing food or driving children to and from school. Whether we are washing, sweeping or working—we are serving.

Service is not restricted to community service. Service is part of everyday life!

Making the most of service

More often than not, most of us begrudge the daily service activities that we need to undertake, believing that we could be doing better things with our time. Sometimes we feel angry, resentful that we have to serve or we feel that our partner gets off lightly when it comes to helping with the kids and chores in the home.

Each day we are presented with an opportunity to turn every day acts of service into acts of love and devotion.

How?

This can be achieved by focusing on the end goal.  To do this, ask yourself, “Through this act, who am I serving?”

Whilst it may appear that we are helping others, we are, in fact, serving The Divine.  As the energy of Divine Love is in each one of us, then each act of service is ultimately serving Divine Love. That is who we really are serving!

This being the case, if we think of the end goal as we go about our activities, we become more conscious of Divine Love in our daily lives. With this shift in awareness, our attitude towards what we are doing, changes.  Focusing on the bigger picture helps us to serve seeing the oneness and connectedness that we have with all. Mentally and emotionally, we feel we have a sense of purpose to our lives for we see that even the mundane chores have a higher purpose to them; spiritually we move closer towards our goal of self-realisation.

Service is the highest spiritual exercise.  When we serve with love and in consciousness of The Divine we sanctify our lives.

How best can we serve?

With:

  • A pure heart
  • A selfless attitude
  • Gratitude
  • Good feelings

Even though many of the acts of service that we do daily may seem mundane, holding the right attitude toward them is the key. Focus on: through this act I am serving The Divine.

Another point to be aware of is, if the feeling of love is missing, our acts of service hold little value.  We are simply carrying out actions without heart.

Whether the service activity we undertake is big or small—the love we impart as we serve—is what matters most.

Love All Serve All

Keep life simple, love those whom you come into contact with daily and serve them with love.

If we take to heart and follow this one principle we enjoy life more and, most importantly, live life with purpose!

Service pays well

No matter how much money we may have in our bank account—it’s not transferrable when we pass from this earthly plane.  However, our bank account of love comes with us.

Service—whether it’s through everyday chores or community service—is the highest act of love.  It pays big dividends and high interest.

Therefore, love to serve and serve to love!

This month, as you engage in your everyday acts of service, focus on the end goal. Say to yourself: “Through this act I am serving The Divine.” Turn everyday actions into acts of love and devotion.

Here is a lovely video of animals that are very willing to love and serve!

Relationship Divine!

Relationships

With Valentine’s Day occurring this month, I thought that ‘relationships’ would be an appropriate topic. Valentine’s Day is focused on love and relationships—but sometimes personal relationships don’t always work out. When this occurs does this mean we have failed?

Read on to find out…

Absolute relationship!

Whilst relaxing in the evening, I happened to pick up the book Your Sacred Self, by the Late Dr. Wayne Dyer. My hand randomly opened a page.

As my eyes scanned the page they fell upon the following paragraph. I smiled; it was no coincidence that my fingers were guided to the page for, during the day, I had seen several clients who were dealing with broken relationships issues.

As I read Wayne Dyer’s words of wisdom, I found myself nodding in agreement for his words succinctly said it all…

“Dropping your personal history means dropping the belief that a failed relationship makes you a failure. There are no failed relationships. Every person who enters and exits your life does so in a mutual sharing of life’s divine lessons. Some have longer roles to play than others, but ultimately, you will return to your relationship to the absolute.”

—Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, (1995) page 46, Your Sacred Self, USA, Harper Collins Publishers

The spiritual perspective

Every person that walks in and out of our personal story plays an important role in our spiritual development. Sometimes the roles they play are difficult for us to let go of; it takes time for us to adjust and realise that the relationship has served its time—has come to an end

A helpful outlook is to focus on the spiritual meaning of the relationship. To appreciate that, ‘the role’ they ‘played out’ in our personal storyline occurred for growth and lessons that are designed to move us away from our ego-driven selves—into the heart of our spiritual nature.

In truth, every physical relationship that we encounter has a divine plan and purpose that leads us to a better understanding of our spiritual selves and our Divine relationship.

A relationship that’s Divine

Throughout life, many of our relationships will come to an end. No matter how much we love another, physical relationships are not permanent. Only our relationship with The Divine is eternal. It’s the only relationship that is built on unconditional love and it’s the one that we can truly say will last forever!

That being the case, surely our divine relationship deserves our utmost love and attention!

Do you want to improve your relationship with The Divine? Here’s a video I put together a  little while ago on the greatest relationship of all.

Christmas Love

Christmas Love 1

Like it or not, here we are again.

It’s the week before Christmas and many people are out and about gathering last minute presents; visiting friends and relatives; finalising, organising and preparing for Christmas.

We plan and work hard in preparation for one single day and yes, at times, it can seem like a crazy thing to do but … Christmas is a time of celebration and joyful connection with those we love.

And more than that, it’s a time to be reminded to live the message of Christ—to live with love.

Love is the true message of Christmas yet, sometimes, we lose focus. Caught up in all the commercialism that is so rife at this time of the year, we lose sight of Christ’s true message.

To conclude my blogs for 2015, I’d like to end with part of a message that we received from Spirit during one of our healing meditations.

It so perfectly reminds us of the true meaning and spirit of Christmas; love all of humanity and especially those who harm others, for it is through love that we can change their hearts—lift them from darkness to light.

Love can save our world.

Spirit’s Message of Love

Here is Spirit’s message received on 11.12.11. Considering the world events that have been occurring lately, Spirit’s message of 4 years ago is even more pertinent in the world today!

“…May we ask you, during this period, as much as you can, as you can, when you can, just to give love to humanity. To project love to all of those peoples in the world who disagree with each other and who, regrettably, harm each other’s physical beings.

Direct your love to them as a gift in the recognition of the birth of The Christ energy in human form.

See the light of Christ pouring into their beings as though you were directing a beam of light towards them. See the light being absorbed into their spirit-selves and the adjustment that that unending love will bring to their physical thinking.

If you can find time to do that, you will greatly help people who live in terrible darkness; you will greatly help countless millions of people upon your earth.”

A gift for all

During this special week, as we gather together and spend time with those we cherish, let us be mindful to extend our love to all on earth.

Christ’s love was for all. Let our hearts be a perfect reflection of His love during Christmastime and throughout the coming year.

This Christmas, give a gift to the world; project love!

Christmas Love 4

May peace fill your hearts, may love carry you on wings of joy.

Blessings, peace, happiness and LOVE to you this Christmas.

Focus On Goodness

Goodness

Goodness is all around us.

I went for a walk along the beachfront this morning. Casting my eyes out to the perfect blue seas and the gentle rolling waves, I was reminded of the magnificence of creation.

As I returned to my car, I saw a middle-aged daughter helping her elderly mother. Patiently and carefully she assisted her Mother into a chair at the beach café. Through her actions, I was reminded of the goodness that lies at the core of people’s hearts.

Yes, there is goodness in this world and it’s time to see and believe it.

In light of the violence in Paris and—many other places around the world—it’s easy to get caught up in the darkness of humanity and to feel disheartened—fearful of what we see and hear.

But the truth is, people who perpetrate crime are the minority; they do not reflect or represent the ways of the majority.

Most people in the world are kind with goodness permeating their hearts. Most are performing small acts of kindness each day as they care about their loved ones and people in their lives. Most people want to live a life of peace and harmony.

Live through the power and goodness of your spirit

When we remember these things we put life back into perspective.

And if we take it a step further, recall that we are a spirit living a human existence then we are reminded of our true power and how best we can do something positive during these difficult worldly times.

Our spirit-self knows that love is what’s needed in the world today and we can love beyond measure by directing our thoughts—so they are helpful and positive.

Stay focused

More than ever, it’s time to stay focused and live your truth by drawing on the love your spirit-self has to offer. Be a positive force in the world today

Use the power of your thoughts and prayers to bring peace, harmony and resolution to the world right now.

The world doesn’t need more fear and darkness. What it does need is more people focusing on their spiritual nature and using their powers of positive intention to send light and love to all on the planet.

This is one of the most powerful acts that we can do for each other.

Choose to see goodness daily

So, if you’ve been caught up in the negativity of world events take a stand—change your focus—and look through the eyes of your spirit-self. See the beauty and magnificence that lies at the heart of creation and humankind.

Draw on your spiritual powers and join me—and many others—in being a force of light. Turn your thoughts to ones that focus on the goodness in others and preciousness of this world.

Darkness fades in the face of light.

Love And Life

Love 2

“Open the door of your heart to love. Do not keep that which is ‘your beauty’ locked away for, thou art love—perfection itself.

Be ever-willing to give love to others so that your love helps others in many ways.   —Spirit”

How precious it is to love others for in giving love we connect to our pure—higher-self.

There is no greater gift to give… there is no greater purpose to life than love.

Recently I attended a funeral. Funerals always make me reflect on the true purpose of life. As I listened to the stories about the life of the one who had passed, I learned about his personal achievements, his extensive travels and hobbies. It was nice to get an overview of his life.

However, what touched my heart more than all of the ‘personal’ achievements mentioned was a short but heartfelt tribute expressed by the deceased’s step-daughter.

She briefly spoke about their relationship, how, in spite of all the ups and downs, the complications and challenges over the years—he kept love in his heart for her and her sister. She paid tribute to his fatherly love.

To me, the few words expressed by the step-daughter were worth more than the lengthier, worldly descriptions about his life.

Love is the pinnacle, the highest goal that we can climb towards. Love is all that matters.

As we journey through life, our mission is to embrace all that life delivers—good or bad—with a heart full of love.

How do you want to be remembered?

Funerals bring us back to the basics of life. They cause us to ponder … how might we be remembered when we have passed back to spirit? Will we be thought of as someone who was kind, loving and generous, someone who embraced life and weathered life’s storms—with love?

It’s always a sobering thought to reflect on our life to date and envisage how we might be remembered when we have passed. And if in reviewing your life up to now, you feel that you’ve not imparted as much love as you hoped, there is always the opportunity for change. Now is the perfect moment.

Live life with love

In the end, we can’t take our worldly accolades and possessions with us over to the other side of life. The only thing that is transferable is our bank account of love.

Therefore, in order to get the best out of life, it pays to invest wisely and live life with love!
