Words Of Inspiration

louis-hay-quote-1-words

Sometimes all it takes is a few words, an inspiring statement that has the power to change our perspective and improve our mood.

One of my favourite authors, Louise Hay, celebrated her 90th birthday this month.  She is ‘the queen’ of affirmations—positive statements—and for decades her words have inspired people to improve their thoughts in more loving ways.

This month, I’ve decided to share some of Louise’s words, affirmations and one-liners that promote positive change.  I believe in word-power and the magic they perform in helping us to lift our moods and mind!

Here are some of my favourite words from Louise, ones that have guided me over the years…

Thoughts

The thoughts we choose to think are the tools we use to paint the canvas of our lives.

Just because you believe something doesn’t mean it’s true.

You are not a helpless victim of your own thoughts, but rather a master of your own mind.

Stop scaring yourself with your thoughts.

Set yourself free from other people’s opinions.

When you’re having a tough day, reach for a good thought.

You are the only person who thinks in your mind! You are the power and authority in your world.

I do not fix problems. I fix my thinking. Then problems fix themselves.

The past

Learn from the past and let it go. Live in today.

The past is over and done and cannot be changed. This is the only moment we can experience.

Love

Love is the great miracle cure. Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives.

Allow the world to love and accept you.

Gratitude

The more grateful you are, the more you get to be grateful about. It’s that simple.

Self-worth / self–love

You will be with you longer than anyone else on the planet so make it a good relationship. (I really enjoy this one!).

Healing

To support the body in healing, we must believe we are worthy of being healed.

Your mind is a tool you can choose to use any way you wish.

Inner-spirit

We are far more than our bodies and personalities. The inner spirit is always beautiful and lovable, no matter how our outer appearances may change.

Aging

Know that you are the perfect age. Each year is special and precious, for you shall only live it once. Be comfortable with growing older.

Power-words / Affirmations

I am in the right place at the right time doing the right thing.

Each day is a new opportunity. I chose to make this day a great one.

All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this situation only good will come. I am safe.

I am willing to release the need to be unworthy.  I am worthy of the very best in life and I now lovingly allow myself to accept it.

Call to Action

Print this list and keep it handy.  Then, the next time you are feeling out of sorts, you will have a list of positive statements that have the potential to help you.

And, if you have a favourite saying of Louise Hay, contact me and I’ll post it on my website so others can benefit from her words too!

This Month’s Video

In this 10 minute video Louise Hay talks about how words and thoughts create our future.  It’s a great to listen to so grab a cuppa, sit back (with your headphones on if you wish) and enjoy!

Good Food For A Healthy Mind!

healthy mind

Have you ever thought about the food that you feed your mind daily; food in the form of thoughts?  Peaceful, happy and kind thoughts are excellent food sources for a healthy mind and research shows ingesting these thoughts daily has a positive effect on our health.

Unfortunately, many of our daily thoughts are unhealthy—with stress and worry forming the main source of our diet. Whilst it’s difficult to eradicate troublesome thoughts altogether, it is possible minimise them.

Here’s how:  Firstly, consider that every thought you think feeds your mind—so, in order to feed it well, a balanced diet is needed.

Each day:

  • Increase positive expressions as you converse with people. For example, thank people more often for the help and the services they provide.  Gratitude is a healthy food source.
  • Reduce the habit of complaining and blaming.  Both are energy-depleting.  Also, reduce negative influences that keep your thoughts focused on ‘life’s dramas’ – media news is an example.  If your senses are constantly bombarded by negative information, it is more difficult to generate positive thoughts.
  • Introduce positive statements into your diet such as, “Today I will worry less.”  “Today I enjoy being happy.” “I feel good about myself today.”
  • Add supplements such as joy and laughter to your day. These essential tonics generate happier thoughts.
  • Assess all of the kindhearted actions that you engaged in throughout the day.  Recalling them to mind generates both good thoughts and feelings.

If you catch yourself in ‘worry mode’, here’s a little trick: Liken ‘stressful thoughts’ to ‘fat’ in a diet.  As with too much fat, too many worries will clog your system and weigh you down!

To stay in great shape, pay attention to the food you feed both your body and mind. Ensure kind-hearted thoughts are part of your daily diet!

Here is a fun video clip that that provides positive food for the mind! Enjoy.

Perfect Timing

Perfect timing, Trust-the-timeing1

It was the 5th January, 2016, and in less than 7 hours of arriving home from our overseas holiday the phone rang. It was the hospital to say that my husband’s brother, Richard, had been admitted to the emergency department.

In our discussions with the medical staff, the news was not good. Taking into account Richard’s current medical condition it was apparent that his chances of recovery were slim.

Richard was managed by the medical team with dedicated care and attention. Sadly, 5 days later he peacefully passed away.

Throughout this difficult time, I kept thanking The Universe for ensuring that we were home in time so we could be there for Richard. There was no doubt in my mind that the timing of our return was perfectly choreographed by a greater Source!

The right moment

This recent experience reminded me how the timing of events is not something that we can control. Whilst we are busy making plans— particularly at this time of year when we work towards our New Year goals and resolutions—life has its own timing.

Often we place a lot of pressure on ourselves believing that things need to be completed within certain timeframes yet, the rhythm of life has a more perfect timeframe in-store!

My New Year’s Resolution

In view of recent events, this year I have decided that whilst I have a list of goals that I want to work towards and achieve, I am going to be mindful and trusting of life’s perfect timing. Whilst I have a plan in my mind of ‘when’ things should be completed, and I work towards completing that plan, I’m still willing to hand the completion date over to a greater Source—a Source which has a much better grip on the perfect timing of life than I!

Trust life’s timing

During 2016, set your goals and dreams, work towards them, do what you need to do in order to achieve your goals but remember: if the timing does not match your desired timeframe, there will be a reason as to why this is so.

This doesn’t mean that you give up, that you drop your goals or abandon them. It does mean that you need to be patient as you surrender to a timing that is perfectly scripted for you.

Over time, your goals will be achieved and when you look back on the timing of how your goals came to be, you will marvel at the perfection of it all!

Christmas Love

Christmas Love 1

Like it or not, here we are again.

It’s the week before Christmas and many people are out and about gathering last minute presents; visiting friends and relatives; finalising, organising and preparing for Christmas.

We plan and work hard in preparation for one single day and yes, at times, it can seem like a crazy thing to do but … Christmas is a time of celebration and joyful connection with those we love.

And more than that, it’s a time to be reminded to live the message of Christ—to live with love.

Love is the true message of Christmas yet, sometimes, we lose focus. Caught up in all the commercialism that is so rife at this time of the year, we lose sight of Christ’s true message.

To conclude my blogs for 2015, I’d like to end with part of a message that we received from Spirit during one of our healing meditations.

It so perfectly reminds us of the true meaning and spirit of Christmas; love all of humanity and especially those who harm others, for it is through love that we can change their hearts—lift them from darkness to light.

Love can save our world.

Spirit’s Message of Love

Here is Spirit’s message received on 11.12.11. Considering the world events that have been occurring lately, Spirit’s message of 4 years ago is even more pertinent in the world today!

“…May we ask you, during this period, as much as you can, as you can, when you can, just to give love to humanity. To project love to all of those peoples in the world who disagree with each other and who, regrettably, harm each other’s physical beings.

Direct your love to them as a gift in the recognition of the birth of The Christ energy in human form.

See the light of Christ pouring into their beings as though you were directing a beam of light towards them. See the light being absorbed into their spirit-selves and the adjustment that that unending love will bring to their physical thinking.

If you can find time to do that, you will greatly help people who live in terrible darkness; you will greatly help countless millions of people upon your earth.”

A gift for all

During this special week, as we gather together and spend time with those we cherish, let us be mindful to extend our love to all on earth.

Christ’s love was for all. Let our hearts be a perfect reflection of His love during Christmastime and throughout the coming year.

This Christmas, give a gift to the world; project love!

Christmas Love 4

May peace fill your hearts, may love carry you on wings of joy.

Blessings, peace, happiness and LOVE to you this Christmas.

Focus On Goodness

Goodness

Goodness is all around us.

I went for a walk along the beachfront this morning. Casting my eyes out to the perfect blue seas and the gentle rolling waves, I was reminded of the magnificence of creation.

As I returned to my car, I saw a middle-aged daughter helping her elderly mother. Patiently and carefully she assisted her Mother into a chair at the beach café. Through her actions, I was reminded of the goodness that lies at the core of people’s hearts.

Yes, there is goodness in this world and it’s time to see and believe it.

In light of the violence in Paris and—many other places around the world—it’s easy to get caught up in the darkness of humanity and to feel disheartened—fearful of what we see and hear.

But the truth is, people who perpetrate crime are the minority; they do not reflect or represent the ways of the majority.

Most people in the world are kind with goodness permeating their hearts. Most are performing small acts of kindness each day as they care about their loved ones and people in their lives. Most people want to live a life of peace and harmony.

Live through the power and goodness of your spirit

When we remember these things we put life back into perspective.

And if we take it a step further, recall that we are a spirit living a human existence then we are reminded of our true power and how best we can do something positive during these difficult worldly times.

Our spirit-self knows that love is what’s needed in the world today and we can love beyond measure by directing our thoughts—so they are helpful and positive.

Stay focused

More than ever, it’s time to stay focused and live your truth by drawing on the love your spirit-self has to offer. Be a positive force in the world today

Use the power of your thoughts and prayers to bring peace, harmony and resolution to the world right now.

The world doesn’t need more fear and darkness. What it does need is more people focusing on their spiritual nature and using their powers of positive intention to send light and love to all on the planet.

This is one of the most powerful acts that we can do for each other.

Choose to see goodness daily

So, if you’ve been caught up in the negativity of world events take a stand—change your focus—and look through the eyes of your spirit-self. See the beauty and magnificence that lies at the heart of creation and humankind.

Draw on your spiritual powers and join me—and many others—in being a force of light. Turn your thoughts to ones that focus on the goodness in others and preciousness of this world.

Darkness fades in the face of light.

Great Expectations

Great expectations

Expectations … do you expect your life to be abundant and for things to pan out in the best way possible or are your thoughts centred on the things you lack, the difficulties and dramas that may or may not occur in your life?

What expectations are you setting and creating in your life?

Some years back, my husband and I went on a cruise where the guest speakers were Esther Hicks and The Late Jerry Hicks. During one of the sessions, Esther was talking about her guide, Abraham, and how Abraham consistently talks about the thoughts we hold—how they create and manifest outcomes in our lives.

During the course of her presentation, Esther talked about how we need to create positive life expectations, namely, that life is always working in our favour.

She shared a powerful affirmation that Abraham told her to believe and adopt: “Things are always working out for me.” She said she lives by these words.

From the moment I heard the affirmation it struck a chord and I immediately made it part of my daily self-talk!

Its positive tone means that no matter what is happening in our lives, we are working towards manifesting outcomes that are not only helpful but outcomes that are for our highest good. Also, the affirmation lifts our mental outlook and vibrational energy, so that we work with Source, the energy of life, in order to create better possibilities.

Creating good expectations

Here are three key points that best support and ‘power up’ the affirmation.

  • Firstly, let go and trust; trust that things are working in your favour.
  • Secondly, become unattached to a specific outcome. To do this, focus less on how the end result will pan out and more on surrendering and trusting the wisdom of Source.
  • And finally, as often as possible, hold thoughts and feelings of gratitude. Be appreciative of all the help that you have received—and will continue to receive—throughout your life.

Call to action

Adopt the affirmation, “Things are working out for me.” Store the affirmation on your smart phone, or place written copies of the saying in your home within easy view.

Practice the affirmation daily and within a couple of weeks, you’ll be amazed at how things in your life fall into place. You will notice that:

  • Problems become solved more easily.
  • Plans will change effortlessly.
  • The right people will come along at the right time to help you.
  • Life will be easier to manage.

These are just some of the benefits that occur when your expectations about life are directed towards favourable outcomes.

Ready to experience the magic?

Begin by believing and trusting that, no matter what is going on in your life, things are working out; and they are working out for your highest good.

Now, take a moment right now and with a firm mind and heart full of enthusiasm, repeat to yourself:

“Things are always working out for me
Things are always working out for me
Things are always working out for me!”

How good does that feel!

On the spiritual path, yes, at times, it is okay to set expectations—especially ones that support the belief … life is working in your favour!
